About Latterly
Latterly began with a straightforward observation: many people approaching the later stages of their working lives felt unprepared — not because information was unavailable, but because the available information was difficult to engage with on their own terms. Pension documents, planning frameworks, and financial language were, for many, more overwhelming than clarifying.
The organisation was founded on Nimmanhaemin Road in Chiang Mai, a city that attracts a thoughtful mix of long-term residents, retirees, and those relocating from abroad. We set out to create a setting where the subject of later-life planning could be addressed slowly, clearly, and without the pressure that often surrounds it.
Our sessions are educational in nature. We do not offer personal financial advice, assess individual circumstances, or manage anyone's affairs. What we do is help people understand the landscape — the kinds of records worth keeping, the way pension systems are generally structured, the questions worth bringing to a qualified professional — so that those conversations, when they happen, are more productive.
We have developed three distinct paths suited to different starting points and levels of engagement. Each is paced to allow genuine understanding, rather than a sense of having covered a lot of ground quickly.

Programme Lead
Develops and delivers the core educational content across all three sessions, with a background in adult education and financial literacy outreach in Southeast Asia.
Nattawan Kraijak
Materials & Resources
Oversees the design and regular review of all participant materials — template packs, reading notes, and summary sheets — ensuring they remain clear, current, and easy to use.
Simon Walcott
Participant Relations
First point of contact for enquiries and session bookings, with a particular focus on welcoming international residents navigating unfamiliar administrative terrain.

How we work
The following principles shape every session we run and every piece of material we produce.
Scope clarity
We are explicit at the outset of every session about what we do and do not cover. Participants leave with a clear sense of when to seek licensed professional advice.
Information accuracy
All educational content is reviewed periodically to reflect current general guidance on pension systems and later-life documentation. We flag when information may change frequently.
Privacy of participants
No participant documents or personal circumstances are shared among the group or retained by Latterly. Sessions provide context, not case work.
No referral incentives
We do not accept fees or referral payments for directing participants toward specific financial planners, legal advisers, or other services. Our recommendations are impartial.
Accessible language
Materials and session delivery avoid unnecessary jargon. Where technical terms are necessary, we explain them plainly and return to them as the session develops.
Regular content review
Session content and template packs are reviewed on a rolling schedule. Participants in the Extended Literacy Course receive updates throughout their enrolment period.

What shapes our educational work
Later-life planning is one of those subjects that most people know they should attend to — and many find reasons to defer. The documentation can feel dense, the decisions consequential, and the professional landscape difficult to navigate without a foundation of general understanding.
At Latterly, we start from the position that comprehension is a prerequisite for confident engagement. Before a person can make informed use of a financial planner or pension specialist, they benefit from a working sense of the territory — the kinds of questions worth asking, the records worth organising, the frameworks that structure retirement planning in general terms.
Our work is intentionally positioned at this preparatory stage. We are not a substitute for professional advice; we are a preparation for it. Participants who have attended an Orientation Workshop or completed the Extended Literacy Course consistently describe feeling more able to engage productively with the professionals they consult subsequently.
Situated in Chiang Mai — a city with a substantial and growing community of long-term international residents — Latterly has shaped its content to acknowledge the particular context of those who are navigating later-life planning while living outside their country of origin. That context adds complexity, and our sessions address it plainly.
